J.J. Watt has groin surgery in Philadelphia

HOUSTON -- Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt had his surgery today in Philadelphia to repair a groin injury he dealt with for about the last month-and-a-half of the season.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Dr. William Meyers performed sports hernia surgery on Watt. Meyers is the same doctor who performed Arian Foster's groin surgery in August. Foster's recovery took about two months. He returned during the Texans' Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons but was very limited.

The good news for Watt and the Texans is that players can't start team activities until mid-April.
