Sully, the former service dog of President George H.W. Bush, was on the sidelines before Sunday's Texans-Patriots game at NRG Stadium and injured Texans star J.J. Watt made sure to get in some quality time with the labrador.
Watt took a break from playing catch with fans around the stadium to kneel down and pet Sully and give him a kiss. The dog responded enthusiastically by licking Watt's face.
Watt has been sidelined since October with a torn pectoral muscle.
Bush was matched with Sully in June 2018, two months after his wife Barbara died. They remained close companions until the former president's death in November 2018.
