As star defensive end J.J. Watt continues to recuperate from his season-ending back surgery, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is at the Texans' training facility Tuesday.

Watt is recovering from his second microdiscectomy surgery to repair a herniated disc.

He was placed on injured reserve. Although Watt is eligible to return this season, the Texans won't have him play again this season.

"He'll be back in 2017," Texans coach Bill O'Brien said of Watt, who penned a first-person story for The Players' Tribune published Tuesday where he emphasized his determination to return and reiterated he has no intentions to retire.
