According to Dallas Cowboys’ writer Bryan Broaddus, the Houston Texans were interested in trading for Cowboys’ pass rusher, Taco Charlton. He was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft with the 28th overall pick to bolster the Cowboys defense.
Charlton played his collegiate football at Michigan where he became one of the better defenders in the nation and one of the top players at his position entering the draft. He finished his time in Ann Arbor with 91 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, and one forced fumble.
The Cowboys were unable to get the best production from Charlton at the next level as he finished with 46 tackles, 11 quarterback hits, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in his first two seasons in the league.
