Last week Brian Gaine was fired around this same time. Today was the day the Texans were expecting to have his replacement in place. Houston interviewed Martin Mayhew and Ray Farmer, then turned their eyes on the guy they really wanted, Patriots executive of player personnel Nick Caserio.
Then the Patriots filed tampering charges because the Texans may have reached out to him before the position was open. These charges have been dropped because the Texans are no longer pursuing Caserio, as reported by John McClain.
And apparently, Caserio has a clause in his contract that permits him from signing with other teams.
