The Houston Texans reportedly didn’t even want Ryan Mallett on the team during their game this past Sunday, but they had no other options. Then on Monday he was told by the team to just go home.
While Mallett was gone the staff was looking for a guy to replace him so they could cut their ties with the disappointing player they acquired from New England last season.
Enter quarterback T.J. Yates, who has familiarity with the Texans as he was a member of the team from 2011 through 2013.
Yates was singed to replace the pouty Mallett and gives the team a veteran option behind starter Brian Hoyer.
