The Houston Texans bolstered their offensive line earlier this offseason by trading for Shaq Mason. It appears the veteran guard is part of the franchise's long-term plans.
According to multiple reports, the Texans and Mason are finalizing a three-year contract extension. KPRC's Aaron Wilson reported Wednesday that the deal is for $36 million, which includes a $10 million signing bonus and $22 million in guaranteed money.
Mason was acquired by the Texans in March from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a sixth-round pick, with Houston sending back a seventh-rounder as part of the trade.
