The Houston Texans have begun negotiating with their upcoming free agents and were able to re-sign their first unrestricted free agent. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported that the Texans have agreed to sign veteran offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson to a one-year contract extension worth up to $4.5 million.
Henderson was the starting right tackle in training camp and preseason games; he was the starter in the regular season opener against the New England Patriots until he broke his left ankle in the first quarter and was out for the remainder of the season.
Henderson’s signing is the first of many moves as the front office and coaching staff begin to look for viable options to add to the 90 man roster for the upcoming training camp and preseason activities.
