The Houston Texans have announced that they have signed Alex McGough to their 53 man active roster. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft but was waived and signed on the practice squad as a rookie. McGough signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars to a future reserve contract and spent the preseason as one of their signal-callers in 2019.
McGough signed to the Texans practice squad while NFL teams were cutting down to their final rosters ahead of the regular season. He had multiple offers on the table to sign on practice squads, but he decided to sign with the Texans after they were willing to pay him a sizeable amount of money to join their ten-man practice squad.
