Houston Texans off to a rough start after muffed punt

The Houston Texans are off to a sloppy start against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After the Texans (2-1) forced the Jaguars' (0-3) offense to a three-and-out on their opening drive, kick returner Steve Sims muffed the punt, allowing the Jaguars' safety Daniel Thomas to scoop the ball where it landed.

Sims seemed to signal for a fair catch, but lost the ball in its path on the way down, as it bounced off his shoulder pad. Since the punting team cannot advance the ball on the same play after a muffed punt, that gave the Jaguars the ball on the Texans' 2-yard line.
