According to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, Texans offensive tackle Derek Newton is slated to return to practice this week after being sidelined for over a month with a hamstring injury. While not expected to take part in the preseason finale against the Cowboys, there is a distinct possibility that he could be back in time for the regular season opener against the Bears.
The Texans offensive line has been in a state of turmoil so far this August, with no fewer than three starters (Newton included) being held out with injuries.
