Newly named starting quarterback Ryan Mallett may have his blindside being protected by newly acquired tackle Chris Clark on Sunday.
Per John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans may be without their starting left tackle when they head to Charlotte to take on the Carolina Panthers.
A thumb injury sustained in the preseason has been nagging Pro Bowl tackle Duane Brown and although he played in Week 1, it appears he may have re-agravated it during the season opener.
As for his potential replacement, Houston traded for Clark during the preseason.
