The Houston Texans have one of the best pass rushes in the NFL, thanks mostly to defensive end J.J. Watt. They selected outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney first overall in 2014 with the hopes he would be the one who put them over the top in terms of pass rushing defenses.
Instead, the player that took the Texans to that next level last season was another outside linebacker, Whitney Mercilus. Now as Clowney enters his third season, there are questions about his long term status in Houston, and this draft may be one in which they look for his potential replacement.
