When the Houston Texans selected Deshaun Watson with the 12th overall pick out of Clemson, they knew — or at least were hoping — they had finally found their franchise quarterback via the NFL Draft. Since making that selection, in his abbreviated two seasons in the league, Watson hasn’t let down the franchise.
Since stepping onto the field for the Texans, Watson has played in 24 games (including the playoffs) in his career, where he has a winning record as a quarterback at 14-9 with 11 wins last season and three wins his rookie campaign.
Watson is now entering his third season in the NFL, and the Texans are expecting even greater play in his progression as a starter, but the thing is, Watson himself is also expecting even more improved play.
