At the start of the offseason it was assumed the Texans would be making zero coaching changes. The same old same old would be back. No offensive coordinator. No new offensive line coach. No new friends.
Then yesterday happened. It was announced Brian Cushing will help the Texans lift even heavier weights and coach the defense here and there. Then it was announced quarterback coach Sean Ryan wouldn’t be back. Ryan was expected to be an offensive coordinator somewhere someday. That day will have to wait. Ryan made a lateral move to Detroit, and will be tasked with resuscitating Matthew Stafford out of the Alex Smithish 2018 he just had despite having a Joe Flaccoish cap hit.
