The Houston Texans continue their plan in improving their defense, and they found a good option in cornerback John Reid from Penn State with the 141st pick of the draft. Reid was drafted with the second of the two fourth-round draft selections they acquired in their trade back with the Miami Dolphins.
Reid left Penn State after his senior season and played in all four years with the Nittany Lions. He finished with 125 tackles, 26 pass deflections, seven interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and 1.5 sacks.
Reid tested well in the NFL Combine running a 4.
