With Garoppolo seemingly out of the mix, the Texans didn't take long to add a quarterback via free agency. Moments after the news of the Garoppolo deal emerged, John McClain of Gallery Sports reported the team has agreed to a two-year deal with former University of Houston standout and ex-Texans QB Case Keenum. Per McClain, Keenum is set to back up the player Houston takes with the second overall pick in the draft.
Keenum set NCAA Division I records for career passing yards, touchdowns and completions during his college career at UH.
