The Houston Texans continue to rebuild the roster with their new general manager Brian Gaine, and they signed cornerback Aaron Colvin in 2018 from the Jacksonville Jaguars to a four-year $34 million deal with $18 million guaranteed. According to the salary figures provided by Overthecap, Gaine and the front office decided to frontload the guaranteed part of his contract in his first two years when they signed him.
Colvin is virtually guaranteed a spot on the roster for 2019 with a $10,500,000 cap penalty in dead money if he was waived. He had an up and down first season with the Texans after playing through an ankle injury he suffered in their home opener against the New York Giants.
