George Godsey named Texans offensive coordinator

Heading into his second season as Texans head coach, Bill O’Brien named George Godsey as his first official offensive coordinator after Monday's OTA practice.

“I’ll start off by just officially announcing that George Godsey is the offensive coordinator,” O’Brien said Monday. “I’m sure you guys at some point will have a chance to spend some time with him. He’ll be the offensive coordinator. It’s really not too much different then what he did last year, it’s just his got the title.”

Godsey served as quarterbacks coach last season while O’Brien maintained primary control of play-calling duties. Both O’Brien and Godsey worked together at New England when O’Brien brought his former Georgia Tech quarterback on board as an offensive assistant in 2011.
