Former Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong was claimed off waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to sources not authorized to speak publicly.
Strong was released by the Texans on Monday.
A former third-round draft pick from Arizona State, Strong served a one-game suspension to start the season. The punishment stemmed from a violation of the NFL substance-abuse policy and a possession of marijuana arrest.
Strong had no further incidents or pending NFL punishment and his release was purely a football decision, according to sources not authorized to speak publicly.
Strong was inside the Texans' locker room earlier Monday when it was open to reporters, hours before he was released prior to practice.
