Former Texans starting wide receiver Nate Washington officially joined the New England Patriots, signing a contract Thursday.
Washington had previously visited the Patriots.
The Texans expressed some preliminary interest this offseason in potentially bringing him back after his one-year, $1.005 million contract expired.
"It was a good visit, Nate enjoyed it," said Brian Overstreet, Washington's agent, after Washington's visit. "It would be a good opportunity to play with Tom Brady. Hopefully, we can get something done.
"Obviously, they're one of the top franchises. New England would be an excellent opportunity, if it doesn't work out with the Texans.
