Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, who started this season for the Houston Texans, committed a penalty in Sunday's Super Bowl despite being inactive for the game.
When the Bengals' Jessie Bates came up with an interception in the end zone, his teammates gathered around him to celebrate. Included in the celebration was Hargreaves, who was wearing a Bengals hoodie, shorts and slides. The former first-round draft pick ran all the way from the Bengals' sidelines to join the on-field celebration and was called for a unsportsmanlike taunting penalty.
Instead of the Bengals starting their next possession at the 20-yard line, they had to start at the 10, because of the penalty.
