On Wednesday evening at the Revention Music Center, physicians presented clinical research and former professional players explained their chronic pain to urge the NFL to remove cannabis from its substance abuse policy.
Support for cannabis has reached a new height on the brink of Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium. Doctors For Cannabis Regulation, a non-profit organization encouraging the legalization, taxation and effective regulation of marijuana in the United States, made "Cannabis in Professional Sports" the first drug advocacy event to be hosted during the Super Bowl.
"Everybody's going to say, oh, these guys just want to get high," said former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon, one of the presenters.
