Former Marshall standout invited to Texans' local prospect day

Kentucky linebacker Ryan Flannigan has been invited to the Texans' local prospect day, according to a source not authorized to speak publicly.

The Missouri City native and former Marshall standout started seven of nine games played last season, recording 53 tackles.

The 5-foot-11, 4/8, 230-pound linebacker ran the 40-yard dash in 4.70 seconds at the Wildcats' Pro Day workout.

He had a 32 1/2 inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump with a 4.34 in the 20-yard shuttle.

Flannigan transferred from Blinn Junior College in Brenham where he had 22 tackles and two interceptions as a sophomore, returning one for a touchdown while limited to three games due to an injury.
