One of the most beloved athletes that the Houston sports scene has ever witnessed says he is stepping away from the gridiron after the season.
Former Houston Texans star J.J. Watt announced that he plans to retire in a social media post Tuesday morning. He made a reference to his son, Koa James Watt, who was born in late October, in the announcement.
“Koa’s first ever NFL game. My last ever NFL home game,” Watt wrote. “My heart is filled with nothing but love and gratitude. It’s been an absolute honor and a pleasure.
