Former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl running back Marion Barber III was found dead by Frisco police on Wednesday, according to Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. According to the report, Barber was found dead in his apartment after police were called to do a welfare check.
Barber, who would have turned 39 next week, played seven seasons in the NFL, including six with the Cowboys, making the Pro Bowl in 2007 when he rushed for a career-high 975 yards. In the playoffs that year, he had a 129-yard divisional round game against the New York Giants, who edged the Cowboys 21-17 and went on to win the Super Bowl.
