Feeding rats to snakes helped Texans RB Lamar Miller pay for his first car

HOUSTON -- Today Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller drives and Audi A7 and also has a Jeep Wrangler. Having signed a four-year deal worth $26 million, with $14 million in guarantees, he's working on buying a house for his parents.

But eight years ago he needed some cash for a little bit more modest goal. His parents taught him the value of hard work as a child. His mother works in a hospital and his father drives a garbage truck. When he grew up they each had two jobs to help care for Miller and his sister, and in the summer of 2008 they agreed to share the cost of a car with him.
