Joining the Kansas City Chiefs on a three-year, $42 million contract was an easy decision for former Texans Pro Bowl safety Tyrann Mathieu.
The former Arizona Cardinals All-Pro selection ultimately chose the Chiefs after the Texans were outbid by an AFC West franchise headlined by NFL Most Valuable Player quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
"I wanted to come to a team that had great talent, great core players, a lot of their core players are still young, closer to my age," Mathieu said during his introductory press conference at Arrowhead Stadium. "I think that had a lot to do with the decision as well.
