Versatile running back Akeem Hunt got the bad news Sunday that he was being released from the Texans.
It was difficult timing for Hunt, who made the initial 53-man roster Saturday only to learn a day later that he was being released.
Hunt learned of his release while handing out supplies to flooding victims at the Jewish Community Center in Meyerland.
Hunt was dealing with a hamstring injury, so he wasn't traveling with the team during its trips to New Orleans and Dallas when they were unable to return to Houston due to Hurricane Harvey.
For the most part, Hunt was fine as he remained back in Houston.
