Ex-Texans assistant Charles London to coach Bears' running backs

Former Texans running backs coach Charles London has accepted a position to coach the Chicago Bears' running backs, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.

London opted to leave the Texans' coaching staff voluntarily.

He was hired Wednesday by new Bears coach Matt Nagy, the former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator who replaced John Fox after he was fired.

London coached the Texans' running backs for four seasons, including former Pro Bowl runner Arian Foster and Pro Bowl alternate Lamar Miller.

The running game declined this season after Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his anterior cruciate ligament, but had its moments earlier in the season when Watson was providing an option element to work in tandem with Miller and rookie D'Onta Foreman.
