Deshaun Watson booked massage appointments with at least 66 different women across 17 months from fall 2019 through spring 2021, when the first civil suit accusing him of sexual misconduct during massage sessions was filed, according to an investigation by the New York Times’ Jenny Vrentas.
The former Texans quarterback had previously said he had hired about 40 different massage therapists in his entire five-year NFL career in Houston. Rusty Hardin, Watson’s attorney, had said his client booked numerous therapists because of the coronavirus pandemic. The New York Times’ investigation shows Watson used many more therapists than he has said and he started booking them himself well before the pandemic began.
