When the Cleveland Browns passed twice on the opportunity to draft Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, it paved a path for him to join the Texans.
Now, Watson has emerged as a rookie sensation after being drafted by the Texans with the 12th overall pick obtained in a trade from the Browns.
Watson wound up being the third quarterback selected overall, following the Chicago Bears picking North Carolina standout Mitch Trubisky and the Kansas City Chiefs taking prolific Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
No rookie quarterback has made the immediate impact that Watson has. His 12 touchdown passes are the most in his team's first five games for a rookie quarterback in NFL history.
