As Deshaun Watson was trying to pick which team for which he would waive his no-trade clause, the Cleveland Browns made a bold move by offering the Texans quarterback a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract. The Texans eventually traded Watson to Cleveland where he signed the deal that gives him the second-highest annual salary ($46 million a year) in the NFL and the largest guarantee in league history.
During his introductory press conference Friday in Berea, Ohio, Watson claimed he never knew about the contract offer when he was trying to choose between the Browns, Falcons, Saints and Panthers.
