Nearly two decades ago, DeMeco Ryans was a linebacker out of Alabama getting his first taste of the NFL at the Houston Texans' rookie minicamp. Fast-forward 17 years, and Ryans is back at the annual event—though this time as the one looking to lead the Texans' youngsters.
While Friday marked the start of Ryans' first rookie minicamp as a head coach, he's well-acquainted with the process of such offseason events after a six-year stint on Kyle Shanahan's staff with the San Francisco 49ers. The Texans' rookie minicamp is scheduled to continue through Sunday.
