For Texans wide receiver DeAndrew White, these are heady times.
The former North Shore high school All-American is playing for his hometown team and grew up rooting for the Texans.
Now, White is a member of the active roster after being promoted this week from the practice squad.
"I'm just blessed and everybody can't say they're in the same situation," said White, a former prep All-American who won 73 consecutive games in high school before signing with Alabama. I'm just thankful for the situation.
"I grew up an Oilers fan and a Texans fan. I'm a Houston kid, so I had no choice.
