When the Texans released veteran offensive guard David Quessenberry on Saturday, it was an emotional time for the cancer survivor.
Quessenberry had no hesitation, though, about his next move.
He wanted to remain a part of the team and join the Texans' practice squad.
Now, Quessenberry is upbeat about his role helping the Texans' highly regarded defense get ready for opponents. Quessenberry hadn't played in a game since his rookie year because of injuries and his subsequent successful battle with non-Hodgkin T-lymphoblastic lymphoma.
"I'm excited to come into work every day and keep getting better and help the team any way I can," Quessenberry said.
