ARLINGTON -- Former Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson flew in from Houston to sign a contract with the Dallas Cowboys hours before kickoff Thursday night at AT&T Stadium.
The Humble native was cut by the Baltimore Ravens after going through the preseason with them and completing just 2 of 8 passes. Johnson has been coaching high school quarterbacks in the Houston area.
Johnson may not be long for the Cowboys, who are looking for help at quarterback following the serious back injury suffered by starter Tony Romo. For the first half of the season at least, rookie Dak Prescott will start and Jameill Showers is backing him up after Kellen Moore was placed on injured reserve.
