“I think we’re improved,” head coach Bill O’Brien said. “I don’t think we’re where we need to be, but I think our coverage units have definitely improved.”
Larry Izzo is in year one as the special teams coordinator, and O’Brien said there’s a definite change in
how the Texans have been able to cover punts and kickoffs. Izzo singled out the likes of Kevin Johnson, A.J. Bouye, Kurtis Drummond, Brian Peters and Max Bullough as special teamers who’ve done well so far.
For O’Brien, winning the field position battle is of paramount importance.
