Countdown To Kickoff: Texans v. Bears

There’s one game I hold closer to my heart than most Texans fans hold close to their hearts. It was Houston’s close, defensive triumph in the rain over the Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday Night Football in 2012. For years, the Texans had been lambasted for being a weak team. Soft like baby food. Brains that couldn’t handle adversity. Crumbles under pressure. Year in and year out, when the Texans blew games at the very end, this was the inescapable narrative that doomed this team.

Then the Houston Texans went to Chicago. In the muck, they absolutely crushed the Bears with hit after hit after hit after hit.
