The Texans bolstered their special teams this week with new contracts for kicker Nick Novak, punter Shane Lechler and safety and special-teams contributor Eddie Pleasant.
Lechler got a $1.8 million contract on a one-year deal. It includes a $500,000 signing bonus and a $1.3 million nonguaranteed base salary.
Pleasant wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent, signing a two-year, $2.15 million deal with no guaranteed money. It includes salaries of $725,000 and $1.078 million, a roster bonus of $311,000 this year and a roster bonus of $36,000 in 2017.
Novak's one-year deal is for $965,000, including an $80,000 roster bonus March 14, a $885,000 nonguaranteed base salary, and a salary-cap figure of $680,000 on the veteran minimum salary benefit.
