With the franchise tag deadline approaching, the Houston Texans made their first significant move of the offseason on Tuesday.
According to multiple reports, the Texans and Dalton Schultz have agreed to a new contract that will keep the starting tight end in Houston for the next three years. The deal is worth $36 million with $23.5 million guaranteed at signing, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
There was previously speculation Houston might use the franchise tag on Schultz, a scenario in which he would've been set to make $12,693,000 on a one-year deal.
