Receiver Cecil Shorts III called the Texans' offensive effort Thursday a mixed bag. He loved how things started but didn't much care for how they finished.
"We started really hot, hit some big plays, big runs. We were moving," Shorts said. "But towards the second half of practice the defense came on and we didn't do that well. On both sides, we've got to string a full practice together. But we're here to make each other better. That's what (training camp) is about."
Surrounded by a crop of young receivers, including two rookie high draft choices in Will Fuller and Braxton Miller and a new young quarterback in Brock Osweiler, Shorts knows how important his leadership will be.
