Cal McNair currently stands as the chairman and CEO of the Houston Texans. He could receive a new title with the organization early next week.
McNair, the son of former Houston owner Bob McNair, could be installed as the Texans' new "principal owner" following Tuesday's vote at the NFL owners meeting, per the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan M. Alexander. Janice McNair, 87, is currently the Texans' principal owner, holding the post since her husband's death in 2018.
Tuesday's move, if approved, is more a change in title than duties for Cal McNair. He has acted as the franchise's lead decision maker in his mother's stead in recent years, overseeing the hirings of general manager Nick Caserio and coach DeMeco Ryans.
