LSU safety Grant Delpit was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the NFL draft Friday night.
The Browns took Delpit, a consensus All-American and the Jim Thorpe Award winner, with the 44th overall pick. He is a former Lamar High School standout who transferred to IMG Academy for his senior year.
As a junior in 2019, the 6-foot-2, 213-pound Delpit was named first-team All-Southeastern Conference and recorded 65 tackles, 4 1/2 for losses, two sacks, two interceptions and seven pass breakups as LSU won the national championship.
