Against San Francisco, Osweiler’s performance brought back memories of David Carr. Erratic accuracy and taking sacks/not getting the ball out. But against the Saints, Osweiler played like the player the Texans thought they were getting when the shelled out $72 million for him.
He led multiple scoring drives, including one ending in a touchdown to Will Fuller. However he also threw an interception in the end zone, once again looking for Fuller. Osweiler threw a fade pass was not thrown long enough for Fuller and the Saints defender stepped in front of him to easily intercept the pass.
