On January 13th, our Houston Texans hired their third ever general manager. Brian Gaine had worked for the Texans in the past, but spent the 2017 season working for the Bills as their VP of Player Personnel. No one’s quite sure how the continued presence of Rick Smith will play out, but Gaine, already fairly familiar with the franchise and front office, hit the ground running. Gaine discussed with the Mothership what he’s done so far, and what he plans to do in the future.
In his first month on the job, the Texans had the opportunity to coach the Senior Bowl, giving a team woefully lacking in first and second round draft picks prime access to those players who might be available in later rounds.
