From meetings to practices, Texans rookies will get their first taste of life in the NFL this week.
Why is it important for rookies to have this time without the rest of their teammates present? After all, aren’t players are already in the building for the nine-week offseason program?
On Monday, general manager Brian Gaine listed five primary objectives of this week’s rookie minicamp:
1. Getting rookies acclimated to the Texans organization and the culture.
2. To discuss expectations of rookies.
3. To foster competition. A number of college free agents and tryout players will be on hand this week in addition to the eight drafted players.
