The AFC playoff picture is a living, breathing thing. A win over the Patriots, who have a well documented aversion to losing streaks, would be absolutely monstrous for the Texans on multiple levels, including but not limited to playoff positioning, be it in the AFC South race or a wild card berth. A loss to New England would not be a death knell for Houston's postseason dreams, but it would almost surely remove any semblance of room for error over the final three weeks of the regular season.
