The last time Bill O'Brien thought he was going to be able to coach Will Fuller, it didn't work out. That was in the summer of 2012 when O'Brien was prepared for his first season as the head coach at Penn State and Fuller was superb prospect at Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia.
Fuller, then a super-lean 163-pounder rated a three-star prospect, turned O'Brien's head then with his speed and Fuller must've liked the coach, too, because he verbally committed to the Nittany Lions after attending their summer camp in early June. A month later, he reiterated that he was Happy Valley-bound, but in August he suddenly changed his mind and signed a letter of intent with Notre Dame instead, telling ESPN.
