The Houston Texans are losing outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo to the Chicago Bears, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Mingo was part of the deal that sent Jadeveon Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Jacob Martin and a future third-round draft selection. Mingo was mainly a reserve on defense and took on a larger role on special teams.
The Texans displayed an initial interest in retaining Mingo for the upcoming 2020 season as they prioritized in bringing back the majority of their core on special teams.
Mingo becomes the second special teamer to leave the Texans after running back Taiwan Jones decided to sign with the Buffalo Bills after agreeing to a one year deal to remain in Houston.
